Mathieu O'Neil

Mathieu O'Neil, Ph.D. is Adjunct Research Fellow at the Australian National University and Principal Researcher at the Australian Department of Broadband, Communication and the Digital Economy. His Ph.D dissertation was based on an ethnographic study of early 1990s underground publication (or "zine") producers in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a contributor to Le Monde diplomatique and has worked as a school teacher, university lecturer, magazine editor and designer, and curated international digital art projects. His book "Cyberchiefs: Autonomy and Authority in Online Tribes" (London: Pluto, in press) will be published in 2009.
